I have done some more research on magazine adverts and cd covers/digipak designs to match the codes and conventions of the genre of our music video which is rap. Here are some new pictures that I will experiment and I will follow the different types of framing for each of these pictures as every picture have different camera angles and shots to create a different meaning.

I have chosen this picture to be a considerable image for the front cover of the cd cover. I would like to explore this image as I like the camera positioning and the photo itself. It depicts how the artist is portrayed through our eyes as we see this from his emotions and his style such as costume, hair and makeup etc. We see that Tu Pac is wearing a neck chain and 2 wrist chains which show that he wants to showoff his bling. This seems to be a low angle shot as from my perspective we are looking up to him which makes him dominant, supeior and powerful. I would imitate this picture by getting the artist to sit on stairs where he can copy this pose and I will shoot also at a low angle which allows him to be in a leading role. The one thing I do not like about this picture is the lighting level. There is a use of low key lighting and underlighting which distorts the artist's features from being shown as this creates a sense of mood. I would like to take this picture in high key lighting which will bring out the artist features. Also, top lighting will be used here to match the codes and conventions of the music video as the music video will be shot in daylight so I would like to make sure that the cd cover and also magazine advert use bright colours when it is being made. Otherwise, I may use black and white for the cd cover.

This CD cover is a predominant choice to use for the video as it represents the genre of the music video which is rap/grime. I like how the picture is to one side and all the content is on the other side which makes the cover quite unique to others that I have seen and analysed. I like the background of the cities which is very effective as this maybe shows what type of area the artist originates from which is most probably an urban city. I like the use of font and colour schemes in this and the typography is seen to be very effective. The only thing which I think is not effective on this cd cover is the font of the artist's name as I think that could be done better as it could be a different colour or a different font type.

This is a good picture for use for a music magazine advert. As from our music video we are shooting some in colour ad some in black and white. The use of props and objects such as the chain and hat is very good and it matches the genre and style of the rapper. I will definitely imitate this idea but in a different way. The framing of this photo is very good from head to waist which is known as a medium shot. .

This picture is good and is one picture I will take of our artist as I would want him to look away from the camera with a medium shot shown here which is head to waist which gives a nice framed shot.
