My artist wants to record and release his music because he finds recording rap and grime is something he enjoys. He loves the reaction from the crowd as he finds it infigurating as he wants to inspire people and make money to help out people as well as helping himself.
My artist's inspiration came from different type of artists such as Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, The Game, Eminem and Snoop Dogg. His songs are about acheiving your dreams and ambitions that everyone can believe in their dreams and become sucesssful by acheiving by being motivated in what they want to do in life so that they can pursue a career in what they want to get into. My artist likes to be very creative and innovated as he enjoys bringing new ideas to the table and likes to explore new things everyday.
My artist would like to be signed to a label that hasn't got their hands around his neck when it comes to creative control. His aim/music career goals is to release his mixtape to a wide range of audiences. It will be called just an idea which means he is taking the steps in order to make my dream come through by building a constructed dream.
My artist would want a major label deal so that they can get you out there to more people. It can be good to be independent because that way you got more of a chance to make what you want. You are not forced to make something you don't like.
The previous CD's that my artist has made are Just an idea and more than just an idea. The mixtape, Construction of a Dream tried to inspire other people in society and tried to make his dream come true. He sold his CD's by handing them out for free by giving out samples of his product by composing a downloadable file.
The theme of the music video will be red and black with US codes and conventions.

Responses to my music interview questions on my artist
My artist basically always liked music when he was young. He never liked rap or hip hop at first as it wasn't his main choice of music or his initial. He enjoyed rock music but after a few years he started to listen to rap music as he liked what he heard. He liked listening to artist songs and then remixing it with the lyrics. He says that if they wrote it down 1 way, he would write it down in another version. As my artist heard the rap music, he started to think of making his own music videos as he wanted everything he produced to be his own as he likes to be independent as he feels that music is better that way when you do it yourself.
My artist rap name was first called FURY then he realised it was too obvious as he wanted a change [have something new]. He then got stuck and couldn't think of a name then he ask his friend to help him think of a name. Him and his friend came up with CONCEPT and TAKE 2. My artist decided to chose Concept as it had a good meaning to it. Concept meant its an idea and that the person/thing is indirect and can't stop the person from what he/she does.

Preview on the production of our music Video- Let It Flow
By analysing different music codes and coventions and style/type [genre] of music, I have looked at how to start videos and what to put in it as a whole to make it a good selling product to the spectators that will consume the product.
We as a group have decided to make the start of the video quite dramatic. We would place the artist in a secluded room where we would switch the lights on and off and then bring the artist to walk out in bright lightt where key light and top lighting will be used. At the start the camera man will take an establishing shot to introduce the audience to location and setting. There will be a point of view shot for the audience to have a glimpse of what they think how the representation is being presented in the video. Also there will be featuring at the start of the video. e.g Directed by... Editing by... Photography and Camerawork by... and Production by... We would want to combine an establishing shot with a tilt camera movement. We would want to shoot the next part of the video in an alleyway where we will use tracking shots as we will be moving to different locations time by time. There will be a lot of hand held camera shots in making the act/video production to make the music video look staged.
This is what we had first planned for the music video, but now this has changed due to new ideas that have come along during this project.

Initial research on how to make a good music video
I have done some independent research on how to make a good music video. Firstly I decided to find an unsigned artist that has made a track/song already to show the representation of the genre and storyline of the music video. I will base the music video on the genre of UK rap with the codes and conventions of a US music video. As a group we will pick a song that will suit the genre othat we will explore and we will then pick a desired location in producing the music video. The music video will be at least under 4 mins long as the song will tell a story and show an effecive representation of the genre [Rap] that we will explore.
Secondly, I will brainstorm about the music video on how I would like to illustrate the production torepresent the emotion of the music video. Thirdly, I will make a shot list where I will draw sketches of shots that I will use in the music video. I will then choose a type of style I will use for the video. e.g maybe shoot the film in black and white/colour. Also I will consider splicing and featuring in the music video as splicing can create effects in a music video and features will show who is in the production.
I will then start shoting with the camera and my desired location that would suit the genre of the song. As a group we will undertake multiple takes which will make the music video better and the editing will be more simple. After this I will then edit the video by loading all the footage into an editing system. In the end I will add effects to the music video to put the finishing touches on the music video.

Camera exercise [exploring different camera techniques and shots]
My group and I used a camera to familarise ourselves on how to use a camera efficiently for our music video and to take shots such as extreme close ups, big close ups, medium shots, medium long shots, extreme long shots, two shots, over the shoulder shots, point of view shots, high angle and low angle shots. By pratising these shots, I was more confident in using the camera and I have developed more technical skills in how to use the camera to produce effective shots.
