shooting pictures/shot list for our music video and description of what has been done as to effectiveness

This was a pre-production picture where I was setting up the tripod for the shooting to make sure that we were pre-prepared before the artist came to the location. This red wall is a location we were shooting at. The cameraman Jordan wrote up a detailed risk assesment for the production of the music video as from what you can see here, there were a few precautions in shooting as the tripod was setup in the road.

This is where the main cameraman Jordan, was adjusting the camera settings and making sure everything was clear to see on the camera such as making sure there was no glitches or blurs on the camera screen. Jordan was also experimenting camera movements such as tilts, cranes and pans.

This is where I took a photo of the rest of the group helping me and Jordan setup with the camera and making sure everything was correct and concise. This is where Mena placed the camera on the tripod and Abdullah put the lens on the front of the camera. Jordan was taking out the other camera to experiment some hand held camera shots.

This is where Mena was mainly in charge of the production by making sure that all camera settings and adjustments were correct so that when I am directing there wouldn’t be a halt in production because of camera settings. Abdullah took off the lens of the camera as we saw that it was a bit blurry. He cleaned the lens and made sure it was clean and good to use for shooting as blurs can be a prevention of using footage as it blocks out certain features of the artist and features of the locations which is a major consideration in shooting the music video.

This is where Abdullah took a photo of me, Mena, Jordan and the artist. This was done at pre- production and we also wanted to test run of the camera on the artist firstto make sure everything is running properly. As the director, I wanted to make sure that camera angles, shots and movements were correct in creating a meaning to the potential audience. I wanted to deconstruct different camera shots and angles in creating different meanings. e.g a low angle shot will make the artist look superior, powerful and predominant etc.. I showed Jordan the type of camera shot that I wanted him to do when shooting this scene for the video. Mena was responsible for timing of the music when the artist was performing as we ensured we had the song with us on the day to make sure everything would be in sync an in time when it comes to editing.

Here we shot a high angle shot of the artist doing the 3rd verse and chorus. The artist has open body language here which represents him as open, confident and performative.

This is a photo shot taken by Jordan which brought out an effective establishing and point of view shot to be shown here. The sunlight is shining on the artist’s face which allow his features to be seen more clearly. Top lighting is used here in creating a glamorous look in the artist. I filmed this shot where I explored a long shot of the artist tracking back as he was doing the 2nd verse. Mena had the soundtrack in the background to allow everything to be in time and to be synced properly.
